This week we read the story Finding the Titanic. We studied text lay out, how to use a thesaurus, worked on connecting compound sentences using a conjunction and took our fall Scholastic Reading Inventory.
In math we worked on our 6s, 7s, 8s, 11s and 12s countbys. We investigated the Identify Property of 1, the commutative property, and the associative and distributive properties.
We reviewed d, s, l and ; in keyboarding.
On Monday in social studies we worked with clay shaping something that may have been in existence 5000 years ago. Now that we understand that Native Americans have lived in the place we now call Wisconsin for thousands of years, we began to turn our attention to the European explorers, missionaries and traders who came here about 400 years ago.
The students have been studying weather in science and worked on finishing up the All About Me mini book in writing.
