Business Letters Written - Responses Received

A few weeks ago fourth graders wrote business letters to companies complimenting them on their products and requesting samples. We have received some responses. Some companies just sent letters, but a few sent samples. We have enjoyed macaroni and cheese from Our Specialty Foods, free pencils and recipes from Ocean Spray, pencils from Pepsico, coupons for free flavored water from Kwik Trip, beef jerky from Jack Link's, recipe books and raisins from Sun-Maid and other delightful things. Not all students get to enjoy the items. That depends on which language arts class the student receiving the response is in. Still companies, for the most part, have been generous and many students were given enough to share. Any student that receives something free then responds with a thank you letter. It has been great fun and learning all around.
