What We've Been Doing

In homeroom we have been working on multiplication with 2s, 3s, 5s, 9s and 10s. Students cut out some product cards that Ms. Gross put in an envelope to be used for fact practice at home. The children have been working on how to write division and multiplication story problems.
We finished up the review of our reading strategies on Tuesday and moved on to the adventure story Akiak. Ask your son or daughter about this exciting story. Next week we will listen to the story and take an Accelerated Reader test on it.
In social studies we have been focusing on borders and boundaries of Wisconsin. We took a practice quiz on identifying the Great Lakes and Surrouding States. We read about the five themes of geography: location, place, movement, human/environment interaction and regions. Students are beginning to understand that they can be in several regions at one time.
In keyboarding we reviewed a, s, j, k, space bar and the enter key.
