Today the students cashed in "one punch" and "no" punch apple punch cards for various prizes from the treasure chest.
The punch card is like a credit card. If students need an extra trip to the bathroom or to their locker they punch the card and leave it on my desk so that I know that they have left the room. Sometimes the teacher will request a punch if a student has been tallied out for the week yet they have an additional infraction.
Students used this red apple card for the month of September and the students with the fewest punches got to pick from the items in the treasure chest. This time the students will have orange pumpkins that will have to last for two months. The students learn quickly that if they want to get a prize they have to monitor their needs in advance.
