We kicked off spelling with an achievement test. The students have been given spelling resources and have been taught how to use them. Common homophones were clarified and the students practiced using capital letters in the right places.
Students have written about their summers, weekends, and made lists of favorite foods. They have written things about themselves and written a letter to their teacher. They have learned a poem -- ask your child to recite it for you.
