Our class got to know each other this week. We form a Community Circle every day and share something if we want to.
In reading we reviewed the writing strategies:
1. Predict/infer
2. Phonics/decoding
3. Monitor/clarify
4. Question
5. Evaluate
6. Summarize
Ms. Gross read some fables, folklore and legends to us.
In math we practiced our 2s, 5s, 10s and 9s countbys and marveled over all of the neat patterns in the 9s. We also investigated the commutativity of multiplication.
In social studies Ms. Gross asked the question, "Where are we?" Ask your student the following questions:
1. What continent do we live on?
2. What country?
3. What state?
bonus: In what two hemispheres do we live?
Students took their first continent/ocean quiz.
Mrs. Winters began working on the writing process with the students and Mrs. Ledvina had the students conducting an experiment.
